Hey everyone!
I quit my day job this week. It’s been a long time coming, but it still feels daunting to commit to supporting my family with my creative output. With the success of Koriko, though, it's become unsustainable to try and juggle two jobs (and two kids!). Something had to give, and I didn’t want to give this up. So here we are.
I've also launched a Patreon to support this move into full-time creative life. I'm hoping to build more of a community there to play games with and share my work—since Twitter died it's felt a lot harder to connect with people who like my stuff... It’s nice being able to send you emails on here, but I miss that sense of back & forth interaction. I also really want to play more RPGs, always, and my hope is that I can cultivate a group of likeminded folks to play with 🎲
I think the rewards are pretty fun too! There’s a bonus zine which I’m already planning out, but mostly I’m trying not to overcommit with my offerings so I can remain focused on my main goal: making cool new games for you all.
If you'd like to check it out, I took a punt on (probably too many of) these cute Mousehole Press patches and you'll get one for free if you become a member during the launch 😊
That’s all I wanted to say really! All my projects are progressing nicely, hopefully now they’ll be able to move a little more quickly 😅
Cheers! J
Congratulations Jack. I went full time last year and it’s honestly been so great to have that time to dedicate to game production and just the family in general. I hope it’s similarly rewarding for you. Will definitely be jumping on that Patreon when it’s live.
Best of luck in your new life! Going full time creative sounds scary but also exciting :)
